Career Highlights to Date
- Buying 22 acre farmlet at Tariki, Taranaki, in July 2010 where my wife and son are operating a small horse breeding operation.
- Buying the 50 acre Kings Vineyard at Pakowhai near Hastings in February 2009.
- Successfully founding my own law firm on 1 August 2006.
- Preparing the pleadings and briefs of evidence and appearing as junior counsel in a claim for negligence which resulted in a settlement of $775,000.00 for our plaintiff client, even though nobody thought we had a chance beforehand.
- Preparing the pleadings and affidavits and acting as the instructing solicitor in a High Court application by an eighty million dollar Charitable Trust to vary its trust deed, which application was successful even though it was strenuously opposed by a section of the local community.
- Successfully creating a good commercial law practice with a good team from scratch at my previous law firm.
- Achieving partnership after only the minimum period of practice of three years.
- Helping to build my previous law firm from the smallest firm in New Plymouth when I joined in 1983 (three lawyers in total) to one of the largest firms in Taranaki (25 lawyers in total at its peak about 2003).

- Dux of my High School in 1970.
- Represented Otago University on TV quiz show “University Challenge” in 1976, which Otago won.
- Successfully climbed Mt Taranaki twice.
- Married in 1980 and have two adult children born 1983 and 1985 respectively.
- Overseas experience in 1975 (Europe and Latin America) and again in 1980-1981 (Europe).
